Classic innovatively reinterpreted!

Morgann Trebutien, who manages the estate founded in 1955, favours innovation and reinterpretation with care and sensitivity - without forgetting his roots. The domaine is located in Avenay Val d'Or, in the east of the Marne Valley. Not far from Bouzy and Ambonnay, it is mainly Pinot Noir that grows here, making up the majority of the vines at around 90%. Respectful and careful treatment of nature is a top priority. The winery is currently in the process of converting to organic farming methods. In addition to viticulture, the family also runs a vine grafting company!

In the cellar, the young winemaker favours careful ageing in wood, but also uses concrete eggs and Qvevris (probably the oldest wine ageing vessel of all). The base wines are fermented spontaneously and matured strictly according to parcel. After a long period on the lees, some of the bottles are riddled by hand and disgorged with very little dosage. Some of the champagnes are even matured under cork - a labour-intensive and costly method that is now only used very rarely.

The results are exciting, terroir-related, balanced and complex champagnes that skilfully combine the family's experience spanning generations with the new ideas of the next generation of champagne winemakers.
